Cherry Cobbler with a topping of Vanilla Tulle

Doesn't that just sound good enough to eat? Ok, maybe not the tulle. But I find myself mysteriously hungry after using Stampin' Up's newest Core Color, Cherry Cobbler! It's worse when I pair it with Crumb Cake!

I have weddings on the brain–whole post on that later–so when I pulled out a sheet of Cherry Cobbler to use the other night because I couldn't stand not to use that gorgeous color–it was natural for me to make a couple of wedding-related cards with it. The one on the left is ok–sorry you can't see the tulle too well on that one–but the one on the right turned out great! I used the Bella Toile background stamp on Very Vanilla cardstock and paired it with a layered punch–first a great scalloped image from the upcoming set Perfect Punches, and then the "for you" image from Elements of Style (Summer Mini).

I also added some little stick-on pearls–we're getting both those and stick-on rhinestones in the next catalog and I am SO excited about that–and layered it on Very Vanilla satin ribbon.

However, the tulle comes into play here because I wrapped a single layer of it around my Bella Toile piece before adhering it to the card. It looked so cool–just like fabric! And the added texture was so fun, you just had to run your finger across it. So there's a quick, cheap little somethin' for you to try. Wrap your focal point piece or a background layer in tulle, either white or ivory, before you attach to to your card. And then enjoy the unexpected little bit of texture!
