One of our new Core Collection colors is called Cajun Craze. I know it's not the typical time of year for a rusty color, but I had it out to make a Father's Day card (stop back later to see it!) and I had this cool altered Top Note shape cut from the Autumn Meadows DSP out of the Holiday Mini… and it just sort of happened! Of course, it would have been better if I hadn't managed to stamp the sentiment a wee bit crooked, there… but it is what it is!
TOP TIP: You can get a great stitched square by running your cardstock through the Big Shot with the Top Note die, then turning the piece 90 degrees and running it through again. It will chop off the ends of the Top Note shape and give you four matching sides. I have two of them above, as you can see. The juncture is hidden by the ribbon.
Anyway, WOW, what a cool color Cajun Craze is. I really like it–it's a dark, deep rust color that is going to be a good combination replacement for both Dusty Durango and Really Rust. I'm hoping to do a post on each of the new Core Colors that are arriving July 1st. I got a lot of fun ideas from the demo-only shoebox swap yesterday! You'll definitely be seeing some more Cajun Craze cards from me down the road–but the fall will be where this one really shines.
