B is for Birthday page

Thought I'd share my favorite spread from Scrap A Stack club in February. We could still squeeze in about one more person, so let me know if you'd like to join us once a month to make three 12×12 spreads and learn how to use your stamps in your scrapping.

This Tempting Turquoise page uses a wheeled stamp called Classic Stars, and a Versamark cartridge to emboss a Basic Black star border on the black mats. A ka-pow of Pumpkin Pie orange shows up in the focal point photo mat and the Scallop Circle mat for the journalling circle (die cut and then texturized on the Big Shot). The circle theme was then carried out with a couple of circle punches and some different brads.

Here's a close up of the embellishing. I also used the matted Tag Punches (mostly so I could use even more stamps from this cute set, Party Hearty!) Notice the paper piercing down the straight edge of the Basic Black cardstock as well? The expected thing would have been to do the exact same piercing down the opposite side, right? Well, you know me… I have to do the UN-expected thing.

I went around the circle instead! Love the way that balances the spread and moves the eye around. I cut these circles on my Circle Scissor Plus–now is the perfect time to get it if you have been needing a cutting system, because during Sale A Bration if you get the Scissor and the Glass Mat, you'll also get a free Sale A Bration choice. So it's the best time of year to invest in that, for sure!

Hope you've gotten a little inspiration from this page. I have a weekly scrapbooking sketch on Thursday that you should check out! And there's lots more pages to peruse on the right hand column of this blog under "scrapbook pages." Clever title, huh?
