Argyle Plaid Chevron Valentine

Talk about and unconventional valentine–I think this one takes the cake! The only thing traditional about this card is the heart-shaped punches.I love all the texture, provided by the cute Beyond Plaid stamp set (#129201-W, #129204-C) from the 2013 Sring Occasions Catalog and the Argyle embossing folder for the Big Shot. I was inspired to use orange for the hearts by a tiny swap card I got at Leadership (which unfortunately was not labeled with the creator's name).

The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set, which is a FREE Sale A Bration reward choice this year! Whoo hoo! All the sayings from that set are in trendy banner shapes, but you can make them even more versatile by trimming the ends off or cutting off just the word you want to use, too.

Would an orange Valentine fly at your house? Does the color matter when it comes to this holiday? Valentine's Day is not like Christmas, where just about ANY color goes, including purple, turquoise and even hot pink. What do you think?

  1. I love the unconventional Valentine. Any color goes, it is about the LOVE that it represents not one day of the year but can be given any day you want someone to know they are your special someone!

  2. DH is a very traditional guy so he’d expect the classic red but I love orange and my 3 girls would go nuts over this! They use my supplies to make their valentines each year and I’m going to show them this. This would be great for little boy valentines, too.
