I'm weird, I know, but the set I was most excited to order first from the new Spring 2019 Occasions catalog was the Flowering Desert stamps! Cacti are on trend right now, but we've always had a thing for them in my family. I couldn't wait to play! I only had time for one quick session, but I'll be back for more as soon as I get a minute.
Suggested Stampin' Up Color Combination
I didn't use any fancy techniques on these–just good old-fashioned sponging. It's amazing what you can do for a card by sponging, swiping and patting! I have two big tips for sponging: first, be sure you use a sponge with rounded edges so you don't get a harsh line accidentally. Second, go light at first–you can always add more ink later, but you can't take it off once it's applied!
Did you spot another new product in these photos?? I sprang for the Stitched Rectangles framelits and I am in hog heaven!!! The stitching adds such a great textural impact and really dresses up layers. And with thirteen different sizes, I'll always have the right fit for my project. I can tell this is going to be one of those tools that never leaves my desk because I use it so much!
