Monday night was Christmas Club number three, hard to believe! We only have one left. I have had two members have to drop out, so if you'd like to join us on November 15th, let me know!
This simple card was made with Confetti White cardstock as the base, run through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, and adorned with leaves and berries (leaves from the 2-Step Bird XL punch). The scalloped stamp comes from Perfect Punches.
Next, we heat embossed snowflakes in silver on Brushed Silver cardstock for this card, made with Serene Snowflakes and interior and exterior sentiments from A Cardinal Christmas. More Big Shot embossing, using the Square Lattice folder!
This one was my favorite this time around. It's just three simple layers–Elegant Eggplant, textured Pale Plum (retired, but available through the Clearance Rack) and Elegant Eggplant again. I used copper embossing powder to do the image from Come to Bethlehem, but gold or silver would look stunning as well. To get the edges embossed with metal as well as the image, run the edges of your piece over your Versamark embossing ink pad and sprinkle with the powder. Heat set like usual (don't burn yourself!) and you have a beautiful, unusual edging to your focal point.
Heat embossing can save you a lot of money–no need for a lot of bling or embellishments–and it's also flat, which is great for cards that need to be mailed instead of handed out. I'd LOVE to teach you and your friends some heat embossing techniques–why don't you book a workshop today, and learn some new things? Let's do it!
You were right. It IS better on a dark background! Love it!
