For Day 14 of the 31 Pages in 31 Days Challenge, I've made a cute little film strip embellishment for this "Movie Night" page, with just an ordinary hole punch and a square punch. The secret to making your own punch art filmstrip is to measure and mark the back side of your black cardstock with a white gel pen. I was using the 1 3/8 inch square punch, so I marked my strip at every 1.5 inches. Then I punched down the strip, moving my punch so the little white gel pen dot was in the left left corner of my punch every time.
You can space the little holes long the side(s) of your film strip perfectly as well, by using the Essentials Piercing templates to make a pierce where you will be centering your hole punch. Super easy to make faux filmstrips of any size, using those two tips! No fancy tools required.
The photos are a little washed out, but the tiny stars are made from Silver Glimmer Paper with the Holiday Collection Framelits, and the headline is made from Brushed Silver cardstock and chipboard, cut on the Big Shot with the new Typeset Alphabet dies (page 192 of the 2012-13 Catalog). I am LOVING the size of that new alpha, plus the fact that it comes with the matching numbers! Cool beans!
Thanks for popping in to my summer blog series! I hope you're enjoying it. August is "design central" around here, with scrapbooking, my Christmas Club and Stamp A Stack planning, and the upcoming 10-10-10. Designing is my favorite part of all the terribly fun things I get to do in this biz, so I am in Hog Heaven right now!
cute page Lyssa! Am neglecting the “blog hopping” lately but Kelly Mayou (one of my newest DL but a seasoned demo just returned to the fold!) shared this link on her daily “blog finds” feature on LNS demo only list. Hope all is well for you and yours! It was great to see you at convention! Jan
