Thanks for joining me for Day Five of my new summer blog series, where I'm featuring a scrapbook page for every single day in August 2012! Any bets as to whether or not I'll be up to the challenge? Are YOU? If we really love to do something, we will make the time to do it. I encourage all you lapsed scrappers out there to jettison your guilty feelings about how far behind you are, and commit to the 31 Day Challenge!
This homey, single-page layout was designed around a great saying from the stamp set From My Heart, which I've mentioned before. It's not one of the cheaper sets in the catalog, but it's got the best sayings! And the size is perfect for both cardmaking and scrapbooking.
I played up the fabric-type patterns with faux stitching, using the great new Stampin' Mat and piercer tool and the new templates, which coordinate gorgeously with our exclusive Framelets. Love it! Crazy about the new Woodgrain folder and how awesomely it looks with the Early Espresso Core'dinations cardstock and sanding blocks.
This is a way more colorful page than I tend to go for–River Rock, Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla, Summer Starfruit, Early Espresso.. and my favorite underdog color, Cajun Craze. The hominess of the page, to me, comes from these great Designer Series Papers in the Comfort Cafe collection. The patterns are just like cheerful calico curtains, and the sight of them truly does bring a little mom-and-pop cafe to mind! Can't you just smell the turkey and gravy and mashed potatoes? Mmmm… ok, do we need to add blogging to the list of things you shouldn't do when you're hungry??!
See you on Monday for Day Six in the 31 Pages in 31 Days series!
I love how this page turned out:) Thanks for doing this scrapbooking challenge. Hope I can get motivated to get some pages done.
Am really enjoying this series!!! You’re sure getting me motivated to come up with some faboo creations for my Crop Club ladies when we start back up again next month 🙂 Thanks, Lys!!!
Yay – I’m caught up! Having tons of fun following along with these sketches.
Here is my post with days 2-5….I’m still waiting for my Crystal Effects to dry for #6.
