I can't believe it's Day 29 already! This month has just FLOWN by, hasn't it? Thanks again for joining Song of My Heart Stampers for the 31 Pages in 31 Days scrapbooking challenge. I have gotten way more than thirty-one pages done this month–love it!

If you're just joining us, be sure to scroll back through the blog and look at each day in August 2013. This is our second annual 31 Pages blog series, so if you look in the archive for August 2012, you'll find 31 more posts' worth of inspiration as well. I also have a huge number of original scrapbook layout sketches archived. More inspiration than you can shake a stick at! Well, you could shake a stick at it, but I can't imagine why you'd want to! It wouldn't change the fact that SOMHS is the place to be for papercrafting love of all kinds!

Tonight is the very last night of our four-week Scrapbooking Summer School classes. I am very sorry to see them end. We're comforting ourselves with the knowlege that the All-Day Scrapbooking Marathon is coming right up in October–details to be posted on that very soon!

I am enjoying the new Sweater Weather Designer Series Papers from the 2013 Holiday Catalog. I just love the textile-inspired patterns of plaid, houndstooth, chevron, and geometric stripes, the the gorgeous fall colors I love so well. Autumn is my favorite season! I just noticed a few trees around the area beginning to yellow at the very tips and it makes me really happy to know my very favorite time of year in Wisconsin is right around the corner. I feel very blessed to live in such a beautiful state.

This spread is pretty straightforward–Baked Brown Sugar cardstock base, Soft Sky cardstock mat distressed with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, then alternating patterns of paper, topped with a die-cut zig-zag rickrack from the Tasteful Trims die (the most useful Sizzix Big Shot die a scrapbooker can own! Click here to view it).

I made the cute little headline banner from twine and our new Burlap Trim, the Artisan Label punch and the Noteable Alphabet stamps.

On the other page, we'll be hand-cutting the large oval image from Spread the Joy, a brand-new limited-edition stamp set that won our first-ever In With You Design Challenge contest. Click here to read about it! I just love the sentiments on it. I accented my oval piece with more twine and an Antique metal brad.

  1. Another great layout, Lyssa. When I first glanced at the left page, I thought the oval layer looked like a surf board. Then, I saw that it was a fall layout and wondered what a surf board had to do with fall. Duh!!

  2. This one was my favorite to make that night. The colors and burlap go so well together. Loved the scrapbook summer school you held. I even played some more on my own last night and used some of my new stamps.
