YAY! It's August and it's Thursday, so that means there's Scrapbooking Summer School class tonight! I look forward all year to this month's classes and the 31 Pages in 31 Days blog series. Scrapbooking was my first love, before I even heard of card-making or rubber stamping, and while it often gets pushed to the back burner these days, I adore getting to immerse myself in the scrapping world again.

Immersion scrapping is the way to go for many of us busy modern women–whether it's a day-long crop, a weekend retreat, or a four-week class series or challenge. Something about setting aside a chunk of time to narrow our focus just massively motivates our mojo!

After yesterday's tips and tricks for the new Big Shot Expressions Thinlets, I thought I'd share another page. This spread is a sneak-peek of NEXT Thursday night's class projects… and it uses not only the gorgeous Expressions Thinlets but also the new Festive Flurry Bundle of dies and coordinating stamp set. Soooo beautiful!

The new Foil Cardstock Sheets are just DA BOMB with those Thinlets, aren't they? It totally looks like heat-set embossing, but it's just paper and the power of the Big Shot.

I took my coolly elegant color scheme from the new Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack, but added Wisteria Wonder to the chilly combo of Coastal Cabana, Pool Party and Smoky Slate to warm up the austerity. The embellishments are Pool Party seam binding ribbon and Wisteria Wonder buttons from the Subtles Collection Buttons. You can't see in the photos, but the snowflakes sparkle with Dazzlin' Details!

I even worked in a little dab of the birch paper that I mentioned before in the page I made with the Thankful Tablescape Kit. I love birch patterned stuff with a winter theme even more than with a fall theme. If you attach the birch paper with dimensionals in the middle of the strip, the paper ribbon naturally rolls a little and you get a cool 3-D rounded effect instead of a flat paper.

All right! I've got a lot of packing to do for class tonight, so I'm outta here! See you tomorrow for more 31 Pages in 31 Days and a very masculine spread for the men in your life!

  1. Gorgeous colors and layout. This will make a beautiful winter spread, whether it’s sledding or sipping hot chocolate.
