31 Pages in 31 Days

Ready for a little more inspiration this weekend? Here's a fun spread I made by cannibalizing a favorite card and turning it into the theme for a page. It's a great way to recycle cards that are just too cut to throw away! And in fact, I love this idea so much, it will be a homework assignment for Scrapbooking Summer School for the third year in a row.

My friend Lori made this card, and I pulled colors from it to create a two-page layout.

Love the '40's and '50's kind of feel to the retro camera, filmstrip and Polaroid-style frames on the card.  The colorful Retro Fresh washi tape helped add some pattern to the color scheme of Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, and Pool Party. I think I managed to pull the theme out and spread it across two pages pretty well, if I do say so myself.

That's it from me today–it's Sunday, and I'm spending the day worshipping together with my family, then dinner with new friends, hopefully a nap in there somewhere, and then getting food and stuff ready for a Griffin family reunion begininng on Wednesday. I'm so excited to see my WHOLE family, all 18 of us, together in one spot for the first time since 2010. You can bet your bottom dollar there'll be photos to put in all these pages very soon!

  1. Never thought about hijacking a card front and using it as part of a scrapbook page – very cool. Love all the retro colors!
