31 Pages in 31 Days 2024 begins!

Welcome to Day One of 31 Pages in 31 Days, 2024 edition!

Every year I run a challenge in August for scrapbookers everywhere–create a page a day for one month. I use a method I call “immersion scrapbooking” which is basically LEAVING THE MESS OUT for one month and crafting your heart out without guilt. At the end of the month you clean it all up and put it away, but for one month you scrapbook whenever you have a free moment. Just sit down and do SOMETHING towards those books.

Because there’s a time limit on the mess, you have permission to make it–even if there’s other things you really “oughtta” be doing. You have 31 days to do this thing you love in your life that you never seem to get to do otherwise. At the end of the month you’ll be satisfied to put it away and focus on back to school and your normal work routine–but you’ll be better for having had this month of creativity and relaxation.

That’s my philosophy of squeezing in scrapbooking in our modern world! Maybe it will work for you? I hope you’ll take the challenge–make the mess–and enjoy the month!

To help you reach that magic goal of 31 Pages in 31 Days, I’ll be posting an inspiration spread every day this month! And here’s my first layout of August 2024.

Today’s double-page “gender reveal” layout was a quick retro-themed layout in Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Pretty in Pink and Basic Gray. I had made a bunch of these little vintage televisions for a card sample swap and had a LOT of the inside of the screen part left over! I just couldn’t throw them away, so together with some leftover squares of pink patterned 6×6 paper, they became a wide border with lots of fun rhinestones and sequins.

Feels great to clear my scrap bin out and make a cute page for the parents-to-be! What are you scrappin’ this month? Leave a comment and let me know! And I’ll see you tomorrow for Day Two!

PS: the BEST way of making sure you don’t miss a day of this series is to subscribe to blog updates! Then each post will be delivered via email.
