Day 12 of 31 Pages in 31 Days, and so far I've managed to keep up! How about you? Do you scrapbook steadily, or go in spurts? Are you working towards a page a day in August, or would you just be happy to get a couple of them done at any time? However you like to do your scrapbooking, enjoy today's inspiration layout.
This was the homework challenge for Scrapbooking Summer School, the four-week class series I run in August every year. Each week the class members are given a mystery packet with 7-8 items and are challenged to make a spread using as many of the pieces as possible. One of the Memories & More cards that says "Lazy Days of Summer" on it became my focus for the layout.
I started with a basic layout from Scrapbooker's One-Sheet Wonder Vol 6, Design 36, using up an old sheet of Gumball Green for the mats. Then I added the packet contents plus some Tangerine Tango mats and accents to break up all the green and yellow.
I used individual word stamps from the Thoughtful Banners set to add some detail to the big picture. Then I used Crushed Curry Baker's Twine and the wooden Hearts & Stars to embellish and add some texture. Some people like big poofy pages and others prefer totally flat pages with no raised elements at all. I tend to feel a page isn't finished if there's no raised or visual texture and depth.
That's it from me today. My demonstrator team meeting is Monday and I'm switching gears back to cardmaking again while I work on that. I can't wait to share squeals over the new 2017 Holiday Mini Catalog!! Maybe you'll see a few brand-new, never-before-seen products on some upcoming layouts!
See you tomorrow for Day 13!
Too cute! Another great way to use up my Project Life cards!
Lyssa, what a cool page! You always make such fantastic pages!
Am lovin’ this! Thank you once again for keeping me inspired and teaching me sooooooooo much!
loving these pages, Lyssa! I am going to use up my stash of PL cards, then I can start buying memories and more cards!
Woo Hoo! I better get my One Sheet Wonder pages printed and organized. What an awesome resource!
Another page using the PL cards and one-sheet wonder sheets. I need to use up some of those retired cardstock colors and making mats is a good way.
A little different color combo. Inspires me to try different combos.
