We made it! Welcome to the very last day of this year's scrapbooking blog series, 31 Pages in 31 Days. I have loved reading all your comments and encouragement–thank you for that! Song of My Heart readers are the best!
I wanted to finish strong, so I saved a really good one for the final day. Today's inspiration page is a sneak peek of another super cute new Framelit-and-stamp-set combo from the Holiday mini catalog, which begins tomorrow, Sept. 1st, 2016. It's called Hang Your Stockings. Isn't it cute???
This page looks like it would take forever, but was actually a cinch just stamping and using the coordinating Framelits to die-cut a bunch of different stockings on the Big Shot. It used up some great scraps so I felt super thrifty. It also has a fun & trendy color scheme for Christmas, I think. I LOVE Emerald Envy and Mint Macaroon together! They pair perfectly.
Suggested Color Combination:
TODAY'S TIP: If you want to use a smaller stamp on a spread and it's just getting lost on the huge page, try stringing a bunch of them along on a wandering ribbon or a little twine clothesline. The small, unremarkable individual stamps become a single embellishment border that carries far more impact than the stamp by itself. I could have made all these stockings and spread them around my page, but they wouldn't have carried half the weight they do when they all hang together. Make sense? Embellishments have more visual power when they're clustered. Resist the urge to spread them out to the far corners of your world.
Tons of texture going on with the multi-layered stockings and the Emerald Envy twine. Ooh, and there's another sneak peek on this page I almost forgot–the stamp set Wonderful Year is a new one, too! And yes, I was singing the song as I stamped this image. "It's the -most- won-der-ful time… of the year!" I dare you to use this set and not sing!!
So that's it for another year. Ready for the grand total for 2016's 31 Pages in 31 Days challenge? The total number of pages I personally completed was 46! I'm so proud of me! I sincerely hope you've enjoyed this blog series. I have loved sharing my layouts with you.
I'm turning my attention to fall projects (my favorite season!) and Christmas cards now, but I hope you'll continue to visit Song of My Heart to see what I'm up to and snag some inspiration for your next crafting escape.
Thanks for coming, friends!
What a fun festive spread to cap out the month! I have really enjoyed all your scrapbook inspiration this August – can’t wait to see what you come up with for the upcoming holiday season now 🙂
Thank you so much for all of the inspiration! You have created some gorgeous page layouts. I have to admit, I generally don’t use my Stampin Up in my scrapbooks but this made me see just what can be created! I absolutely love all of the pages you have created! Thanks again!
