We made a brand new fancy fold during my March Mystery Stamp Night on the Song of My Heart Facebook fanpage and you've got to try it! it takes one full sheet of 12×12 patterned paper per card, and uses every scrap of it.
This card has an unexpected surprise–after you open the outside "doors" it has another set! This gives you tons of space to embellish and personalize, and shows off that pretty paper really well.
Best of all, it still fits in a regular medium envelope!!! Love that! You'll just need to watch how many dimensionals you use when you're adding your flowers or whatever to embellish. The belly band will add a little thickness as well, so you will definitely need two postage stamps to send this beauty (or hand-deliver, of course.)
Here's the live replay of our Mystery Stamp Night! it was the first one I've ever done for Song of My Heart fans, so it was slightly nerve-wracking. I kept wanting to show you the finished project to help explain what we were doing and why–but it was a secret!
That was such a fun evening, I will for sure be doing more Mystery Stamp Nights in the future. Here is the supply list I posted beforehand, so if you want you can gather the materials and play along with the recording!
After we finished making the card, I shared several more samples to show how to make it into a gift card and how to turn it vertically, too!
Have to share a masculine card, too! I've been working on the samples for the April 2020 Suite Sampler featuring the Well Suited collection and having way too much fun with the shirt and tie dies. I can't wait to get a minute and work on the scrapbook inspiration pages!!
I hope you give this fancy fold a try–it's really super easy once you know the trick–and enjoy the tips on how to make the perfect belly band and get it to stop in the exact spot you want it to. That's why I love these live demos–they come the closest to me being right there in class with you!
If you're enjoying all the free tutorials lately please leave a comment! It encourages me to no end when I hear you're inspired by something you spotted here at Song of My Heart. Have a great day, friends!
