I had another "eureka!" moment in the stamp room this week, so here comes another brand new tutorial! I'm on a roll right now–of course, right when I haven't really got the time to be… it's Murphy's Law, I guess!
This is a fun technique you can do when your new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers arrive. All you need is 2-3 colors of marker, a piece of clear acetate window sheet, and cardstock. If you don't have any acetate, you can use the throw-away sheet from a set of photopolymer stamps, or a clear envelope.
Let's learn something new!
My piece of acetate was a leftover Memories & More card piece… hence the little pink hexagons. If you don't use those specialty cards in your scrapbooking, save them for shaker cards and techniques like this one.
You can do stripes, swirls, waves, hearts and stars, etc with this technique, but even just the simple strips are stunning. The only limitations are how quickly the alcohol ink dries.
The finished background is perfect with just a sentiment in plain black, for clean and simple cards, or you can go fancy and add spatter, rhinestones, Wink of Stella and additional images and stamps. Fun!
I liked the pink and purple version, but you know me… I had to try it in turquoise! I love ALL the shades of aqua in the new Stampin' Blends collection. Don't ask me to choose a favorite!
So, what do you say–are you going to give the acetate transfer technique a try? I hope so! Leave me a comment if you love this and other tutorials in Song of My Heart's 100% Free Tutorial Library. You can support Song of My Heart and keep the inspiration coming, by shopping in my Etsy store or my Stampin' Up webstore.
Thanks for popping in today!
Brilliant idea—can’t wait to try it! Thanks for the inspiration!
That’s really cool. Lovely effect and lovely cards too.
Oh I am definitely going to try this! What a fabulous idea and so pretty and unique. No one will ever have two the same or matching any one else!
Thank you for sharing your Eureka! moment!
