Hooray for Surprises!

Hooray for surprises, and hooray for having time to play with new toys! For our last “Step Into Spring” stamp camp I chose to do a whole session on the cool new perforated tear-off dies from Stampin’ Up and boy did we have fun!

Here’s a few tips if you choose to get these adorable Hooray for Surprises dies and start making EXTRA fun cards for friends and family:

  • first, don’t forget to put your gift card, money or message inside BEFORE you adhere!!! Ask me how I know!! I used Tear & Tape and left one of the sides “unpeeled” so that I can add the gift card in later and the just peel the backing off to seal it shut.
  • second, you’ll love that the matching stamp set (not totally necessary but really cool to have) is clear photopolymer. You’ll be able to line up the fun little instructional words like “pull” and “open here” right on or next to the tabs so your recipient knows how to get into the card.
  • third, you can make treat boxes with fun openings, too! This set of dies is not just for cards. How fun is that, a little favor that you can open by pulling the strip? Provided of course that the maker remembered to put the chocolate inside BEFORE she sealed it shut! Ask me how I know!!!

I can’t wait to see what YOU make with these cute new dies! But don’t wait to order them if you haven’t already–they are a spring mini catalog item and I’m not sure how much longer they will be in stock!

Interested in attending one of our virtual stamp camps? The next one is April 27th! You can catch up on past camps by subscribing to My Layout Library and printing out the 20+-page stamp camp PDFs stored there along with thousands of dollars’ worth of printable goodies. You’ll be SO glad you did.
