Day Seven: 31 Pages in 31 Days 2025

We’re on Day Seven of my annual blog series, 31 Pages in 31 Days–well, I’m not, but you are! I actually never finished and published this post, and didn’t notice. Thanks to a heads up from a sharp-eyed friend, here it is!

Today’s inspiration page (Everyday Happiness papers) is a mellow combo of warm browns and aqua blues, with a fun strip down the center of the right hand page that can be for photos or a photo headline. This right hand page also has the distinction of looking great as a left hand layout, too!

This page follows my design principle of adding texture in three different ways. I sometimes get asked to make suggestions on friends’ pages, and often it’s less a matter of actual layout then it is a matter of what is on the top of the layout.

Scrapbook layouts are made of paper and photos, and therefore tend to be very flat. Using dimensionals, die-cuts, twine or trims, and metallic or other shiny, hard embellishments can add that much-needed pizzazz to a page. Next time a page just feels bleh to you, try my 3 textures principle and watch it come to life!

Thanks for tuning in for Day Seven! Now on to Day Eight.
