Ever get such a special card you just HAVE to put into your album? Today's inspiration layout was built around just such a card! I started with a lovely little piece of art by my friend Christy. I hope the finished project does it justice.
Such a bummer that glitter doesn't show up well in photographs… those purple borders are from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper, there's gold gems and gold mini sequin trim, and Shimmer Crystal Effects "water" droplets are spotted here and there. It's FANCY! But you'll just have to take my word for it.
Christy had embossed the mermaid in gold embossing powder, too. I love her watercoloring here. I need to practice more!!
It was very fun combing through my scrap bin and paging through papers to find textures and patterns to go with the mermaid theme. I liked the "scales" on the Purple Posy papers, and there were plenty of green-blue shades to work with in the watercoloring and the fun background papers from Artistry Blooms.
I do think if I had it to do over again, I'd change out the gray photo mats for a pale yellow, maybe. Or maybe once the photos are in, it won't matter as much.
That's it from me today–off to tackle the decorations for one last graduation hurrah for Dan and two of his friends after church on Sunday. Because of Covid-19 postponements, this party is only a week away from all three of them starting college. What a funny summer! Let's hope and pray there is never another one like it!
See you tomorrow for Day 22!
The Mermaid & water look looks fantastic!!
I love how you balanced the colors.
