31 Pages in 31 Days: Bright Birthdays

Welcome back to 31 Pages in 31 Days, my annual immersion scrapbooking challenge! For the next month I challenge you to get out your crafting goodies and MAKE THE MESS without guilt! Leave it out on the table and work on it every day whenever you get a minute to two.

Even 10 minutes can get you set up with colors and patterns picked, and then the next ten minutes you can cut mats and build the layout… another 10 minutes can get the headline and embellishments on!

Too often we don’t scrapbook at ALL because we think we need a big chunk of time (which never magically appears, does it?) but there ARE much smaller pockets of time here and there, and immersion scrapbooking is about making yourself leave the mess out and take those moments without a sense of guilt for one month.

At the end of the month you can put it all away and move on with life. Try it! Immersion scrapping might be the way you finally manage to scrapbook again.

Today’s inspiration layout is a sweet youngster’s birthday spread. It uses one of my favorite techniques for 6×6 paper in 12×12 scrapping, which is to cut four pieces of 6×6 in three 2 x 6 strips each. Flip the pattern on every other one as you march them across the page left to right (staggered or not, your preference).

  • Colors: Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Fresh Freesia, Basic White.
  • Papers: Bright & Beautiful 6×6, Parakeet Party ombre glimmer (retired)
  • Stamps & Inks: Warm Welcome (presents); Lined Alphabet (retired), Azure Afternoon

That’s it from me today! Funny, I started 31 Pages in 31 Days in August because it was such a slow month for me. Now August is my busiest month of the whole year. But I’m committed, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for Day 9’s layout inspiration.
